How to braid hair:

Separate your hair into three sections

Take the strands of hair from the right section and cross it over the center strands so that they switch places.

Next, take the left section of hair and cross it over the center section.

Continue all the way to the end and secure with hair elastics

Step-by-step Guide to French braiding your hair

French braids are complicated but is a great braided hairstyles option if you'd like to pull your hair away from your face or to fix a bad hair day.

Braided High Fashion

Part your hair diagonally and bring all hair to the right shoulder.

Braid your hair into a desired number of ponytails (Best number would be 5 or more)

Secure the ends with transparent elastic band.

*Note: Make sure that the braids are tight so it doesn't look messy.

Take the braid on the most right; wrap it around the front of your ears, to the top of your crown.

Use mini bobby pins and pin it in an X shape for stronger hold.

Take the second braid and wrap it the same way, pinning it before the first braid, so that it is side by side.

Do the same for the remaining braids until all braids are pinned.

Spray with strong hold hairspray to last the entire evening!

The French Braid Bun

This is a tutorial by Refinery29

1. Flip your head upside-down and section hair at the nape into three half-inch pieces.

2. Start a classic, inside-out French braid at the nape of your neck. (It's exactly the same as a regular French braid, but instead of overlapping pieces on top, they pass underneath).

3. Keep adding sections all the way up until you reach the very top of your head. Make sure there is even and consistent tension - don't go on to the next section of hair until you know it's secure.

4. Tie off the braid at the top with a ponytail holder.

5. Twist hair into a bun, and secure with bobby-pins.

6. To finish, sweep the front section of the hair across the forehead and to the side (twisting along the side of your head), and connect it with the bun. Secure with bobby-pins.
