Experiment with Few Procedures

Split Ends

As a woman of colour who has my hair chemically relaxed every six weeks its no surprise that it does tend to become dry, brittle and damaged.

So I began to experiment with a few procedures and finally found a few that work.

→ The first thing that I do is to visit my hairdresser and have her trim off all the damaged ends of my hair.

Split ends cause the hair to break and you hair will not grow properly and evenly. So it is essential to have the ends trimmed before attempting the steps below.

→ I then wash my hair with Pantene ProV shampoo and conditioner every three days.

Note: You don't want to wash you hair to often as this strips the hair of it's natural oils and therefore encouraging the hair to become dry.

I prefer to use Pantene products but if you have a shampoo and conditioner that works for you, feel free to use yours.

→ The next thing I do is that I steam my hair once a week for a period of six weeks.

I chose the Dr. Miracles extra strength Deep Conditioning treatment.

I do this on my own at home to save money because it is pretty expensive to get it done at the salon.

→ After the six week period, my hair is no longer dry and the signs of damage have vanished. Also my hair is fuller and stronger.

→ The final thing that I do is I purchased a bottle of Natural Vitamin E Capsules which I massage into my hair every Night before I go to bed.

Vitamin E is actually really good for your hair and skin.

You can chose to drink the capsules in addition to the following method, but I have noticed that applying it directly to the hair speeds up the process.

I would use one or two capsules, make a small hole in them and squeeze the liquid into the palm of my hand. I would then massage this into my hair and scalp, wrap or set my hair and tie with a silk scarf.

Styling the following morning is a breeze and my hair feels soft and silky.

So there, these are my tips for dealing with dry damaged hair. I hope this has been of some help to you. And ladies remember, you hair is your beauty.

Dry damaged brittle hair is not very attractive. Just spending a few extra minutes a day on your hair can make all the difference.
